Kenyan Universities - Courses Offered

As the number of Kenyan Form graduates keep increasing each year, the demand for tertiary education keeps growing. However, the dilemma that faces many students is the type of course to select and in which University. Put simply, many high school graduates are not aware of the courses offered in Kenyan Universities.
It appears that each University has cultivated for itself a niche in certain areas. For instance, Kenyatta University is widely known for offering courses relation to education and curriculum development. It is also strong in literature as well as the fine arts.
The University of Nairobi (UON), which is the country's oldest University offers courses in almost all fields and hence is the most advanced Kenyan University. The courses are in sciences, humanities as well as the liberal Arts. It is for this reason that many bright high school graduates choose to attend the University.
JKUAT University is known for technical and engineering courses. This is so especially because the University has been associated with the Japanese government which financed it since its inception in 1984 up to 2001 when it was handed over to the Kenyan government. However, the University has in recent years diversified to other courses in the humanities and the liberal Arts.
Strathmore University is the new kid on the block having been granted a charter just a few years ago. It is especially renowned for courses in business and IT. It's MBA course is also said to be of high quality and as such attracts seasoned professionals as students. It is also linked with a number of international business schools which has seen its global ranking surge in recent years.
